called today for blood results, was told all ok no further action. I Asked what HbA1c was and told 80.it was 77 last time, I know it’s only a rise of 3 but still wrong way going, but how could she say all ok? I’m not happy , and now not looking forward to my review next week, but trying not to get too stressed. What will be will be.

My last HbA1c was in the 60's and although down from the previous reading I was immediately put on insulin by my GP. She also requested appointments with both my gastro and diabetes consultants.
And yours says no further action??? I know we are all different but surely they should take some action.
Hope they do suggest something at your review.

This was the person you phone for results, so waiting to see what nurse says. Never been to diabetes clinic or seen a consultant

Type 2s aren't routinely seen in hospital clinics Dave unless they are complicated for some reason. They are condemned to the expertise of their GP who usually shoves off the responsibility to a surgery nurse - and it's hit and miss whether either the GP or the nurse are actually knowledgeable or helpful.

@Carolg
Carol you have a ruddy good right to be unhappy, in fact angry. Don't get stressed to much but this needs addressing as a matter of some priority and may I suggest that you get this all out at your interview next week. Please keep us updated.

I’ve found some GP’s are far too complacent and happy to accept numbers we simply won’t. This is obviously a worry to you Carol and I hope there’s helpful dialogue when you have your review. Best wishes x

Carol, it might say "no further action" just because they can see you have your review booked for next week?
Easy to say, but try not to stress too much! Hope the time passes quickly until your appointment.

Thanks for your comment, Could be silentsquirrel. Didn’t expect it to be better, but usually look online which is more satisfactory

I hope things become clearer at your review Carol. Don't stress about it, remember they are there to help you, not berate you. Be honest and frank with them and make sure you come away with a positive plan to get those numbers down. We are all here to help you {{{HUGS}}}

I guess I've been spoilt then Jenny🙂 I've been seen more times by hospital consultants than GPs. Let's hope that Carol's GP can get her levels down to an acceptable level.

Good grief, I have arguments with the DN's because i don't accept 7.5% (58 mmol/mol) as being the target. But 80?

Blimey Carol, I think id be fuming at my gp saying that you don't need further action at 80! I had to push and push for a hospital referral from my gp and I still think my treatment hasn't been great (my next review is april). I hope you get some answers and resolution at your review meeting.

Sending you ((hugs)) all the best for your review x

I too wondered if they just put 'OK' because they can see you've got a review booked. At our surgery, if things aren't marked OK by the doctors, then the receptionist phones and asks you to make GP appointment. I hope you get some good support at your review.

Aw, hugs for you.
I hope your appointment will be helpful.
It's such a struggle.
S.

Don’t think I would be to happy with that, but like others have said don’t stress about it and hopefully she has got her numbers muddled up and your review next week will tell a different
story.
Hoping all turns out well for you, Allan.

Thanks everyone for your support. Think I am getting a bit obsessive but not in the most productive way, so going to try to be a bit more relaxed about things, get some answers and ask for the support I need, and listen.
