I don't normally comment on hypos BUT after three weeks of cutting my midnight to 4am basal quite dramatically I thought that I should be fairly ok going to bed with a pre-dinner 7.2 and everything carefully carb counted. Woke up at 3.30am by bad hypo symptoms and Libre saying LO. Unusually for me I couldn't be bothered to double-check with a finger prick but had two small cans of normal Coke 30g fast acting carbs. This is my upstairs hypo stash to avoid trips downstairs. 30 minutes later finger prick was 5.2 and LIbre had a straight up arroww so I went to be.
5.30am again felt very bad hypo. Went downstairs (which I don't like doing when hypo) and had hypo hunger (which I haven't had for a long time and not good for gastroparesis). I had another can of Coke, two shortbread fingers, a sweet biscuit and a chocolate finger - OMG I am going to gastroparesis suffer for that. Came back upstairs finger prick tested and 2.9.
Going to be fun explaining this at my diabetic review.
And also not caused by alcohol because rather surprisingly on Christmas Day I managed to make one bottle of champagne last 10 hours with the last sip at 9pm.
