So wondering how you all handle cold weather.

Im pretty hot blooded and dont really do jackets/coats. Went for walk on break today and was pretty chilli sat back down to work and had sudden low sugar not had for months, tested and was 3.6 had some sweets and all good. Cant think anything different today expect the cold.

Had quick google and read weather can effect blood sugar but normally go up in winter.

Wondering if weather does effect blood sugar what others do, this will be my 1st winter low carb.

Thanks all

Sounds more like the effects of the Gliclazide than cold weather impact Blue Flash. To be honest, I’m surprised you’re still on such a hefty amount of meds with a Hba1c of 43. Have you discussed the need with your doctor? Sounds to me like your low carbing is doing the trick but might drop to some lows combined with the meds.
Just my observation as a non expert on the subject.

Well you (everyone) uses more energy doing any activity when the weather's cold - therefore it affects our BG more.

Yes asked doc if could reduce glicazide when got that lower result, he wanted me stay on see if remains low. Just had blood test for a review so will find out at next appointment.

You’ve done incredibly well so hopefully the meds can be reduced at your next review 😛

Do you alter your insulin in the winter or just dress warmer.

Was thinking how Id keep blood sugar higher, but guess answer is in glicazide review.

Well if I'm spending any time outdoors 'doing' stuff - then I have to adjust it - and of course I wear more, hats scarves gloves. I just slap a TBR on these days - but you're not on insulin so it may well be that if you are going to do stuff like that you should take less Glic, or eat more carbs beforehand?

Like the rest of us - you'll have to experiment and find a way!
