Today i have my review at 4 my bloods didn't come back well abnormal i have a scan tomorrow, but thats tomorrow, today i was told i was being put on Mid im sure we have all been there but do you know when you just carnt take anymore

Sorry to hear how you are feeling Simon.

I completely agree with @grovesy though - you need to tell your Drs how you are feeling, and ask for some extra support.

Sometimes it just seems it’s one thing after another, doesn’t it. Please please please at your review today , tell them how you are struggling.
And please when you have time/feel able please let us know how you get on

I hope you get good results from your scan.

Hi Simon, hope it wasn’t as bad as you expected and you got some support.

I can only offer virtual hugs ... (((hugs))) and I hope you can find some inner strength to keep on keeping on. Tell them how you feel or they won't know.

Well had my review hba1 was 75, but most importantly i was taken of Humalog mixed insulin and given 2 insulins Lantus 24 first thing in the morning, a humalog fast acting 4 at lunch and 6 at dinner, im going to have to start all over again on levels, dont know how these will make me feel, its like water torture just waiting for a hypo.

And now i have the scan today which isnt til this afternoon carnt have any food or milk

Hope you get into the swing of the new insulin regime quickly, Simon, I'm glad I was never on mixed 🙂 Hope the scan goes well - that's a bit unfair making you wait until the afternoon if you're not allowed to eat 😱 :(

Hope the new insulins work well - they should be much more flexible once you have learned how to use them and adjust them yourself.

Have they advised you whether you are supposed to take the rapid insulin if you are not eating? I would expect you to not need it if you are not having food and to only need the Lantus, but that’s more from a T1 perspective.

I wouldn’t like to say for your situation Simon, as it may be very different to how I use insulin. But if I am not eating (or not eating carbs in a meal) I am advised that I do not need to take mealtime insulin, and that my background insulin should be enough.

I would stick to what you were told for now, but maybe one to ask at your next appointment?

I'd call the DSN and ask for clarification Simon 🙂

Be pushy Simon...it's your health and she should be doing her job.
