That is so good of you Marsbartoasrie. Managing my Diabetes was one of my incentives to get home before I called 111. I tend to be more concerned about that than the actual illness.
Same here SB...in London last year...hit my head heavily on a taxi door...went to meeting...got train home...drove from the station...then had to go to the local hospital...cannulas...CCT scan...but...at least I had made it home...I can understand that need to get back home... to what is familiar...somehow makes us feel safer (or is that just me)...more secure...hope very much you get back to your home as soon as possible...without too much further delay...continue to improve...take care.

i was in London when I started to feel rough. I thought it would go away, but after 24 hours no better and temp of 103/104. Made it home and now in hospitality various drips.

Absolutely no problem with D. I am left to do it for myself, they swiped the Libre during the night instead of pricking my finger. So much better and more sleep. Nurses diond swap over and then one in our bit is someone with T1!!.
Wishing you a speedy recovery and glad you have the right kind of support. I expect even if you are hungry the food is not great so hope you can eat what you like.

I’m hoping you’re starting to feel a little better.

Hope you feel much much better soon SB. It’s impossible to sleep in hospital and they keep wanting to feed you carbs! 🙄 Best wishes

Oh dear, that's two of us - hope we don't have to have three people suddenly landing up in hosp!

I absolutely hope you start to feel better soon - we can't actually cure stuff but we might just help you fight it!

They have let me out at night.
I just have to go back in each day for blood tests and IV antibiotics, until the pain goes away then carry on with oral antiBs after that. (MikeyB what is I need after all this to restore thegood bacteria?). I know it is because they needed my bed, but living only minutes away I much prefer being at home to SLEEP.

The care I have had has been excellent, and I had absolutely no hassles In any of the areas with my diabetes. A bit worrying increasing so that I am now running at 210% basal and bolus but it worked and my Libre showed flat lines on target. The best bit was their using the Libre reader to do overnight readings. We agreed they would wake me if I went over 10 so I could do a correction. Much better than fingerpricks.

Let's hope it is still just the two of us.

Bit slow on the band wagon but I do hope you get better soon and hope your kidneys recover fully

So pleased to hear that you are now able to sleep in your own bed. I think that it is probiotics that you need to restore the good bacteria after antibiotics.

How are you doing. It’s good to hear your able to go home every day and go back for daily treatment etc.
A couple of years ago, I was in rehab after breaking my hip and left humerus and on antibiotics for an infection, they gave me a Yakult everyday, I have no idea if it worked though.

So much easier to sleep at home! The joys of living near enough to the hospital to go for this option.

Having read the article Robin referred to, and because I like the pots of the probiotics I might as well give it a try. It certainly isn't giongnto do any harm.

More IV stuff today, but beginning to settle.
Almost starting to feel human again, and have stayed awake for more than just a couple of hours.

I’ve only just noticed the summons earlier in the thread😎 Should have used the searchlight in the sky, like Batman.

Those pro biotic yogurt things don’t do much to restore gut normality after prolonged antibiotics. I use high dose capsules of the three main bugs. It has to be a high dose for some of it to reach the lower bowel, the gunk in pots isn’t enough.
