I had to go in to my GP today for a review. Good point, my doctor was really pleased with my BG levels and when I told her I was having problems taking all the metformin I was supposed to be because of the effect it was having, I think she was ok with it because my levels were good. Bad point, she took my blood pressure again and it was still a bit high. It might be a bit of white coat fever, but I have to go back in a week and a half to have a 24 blood pressure monitor fitted, and she mentioned that if it wasn't good then they'll look at tablets. I feel a bit weird having to have blood pressure medication at 38. I don't feel old enough.

Beck...you might not need it...possibly your reaction to the surgery/environment...I did start off with blood medication in July 2016...mine was horrendous...210/190...took Ramipril for just over five months...managed to come off it in January this year...I have a blood pressure monitor...do my own readings at home...GP happy to accept those...he knows as soon as I get to the surgery door...my BP shots up.

The surgery pharmacist rang me this morning because my b/p was high at my review too @Beck S. I have to do home monitoring and feed back. I know it’s a white coat hypertension response because I’m ok at home. I’ve been on b/p meds for donkey’s years and don’t want to up them.

Thanks both. I hope the 24 hour test will be good and I'll be fine away from the doctors.

I bought a BP monitor from amazon cos 'im indoors pretty much always has a high reading at the doctor's...he monitored himself for a few days and was fine. He wore the 24-hour device too and had good readings.🙂

I hope you've just got a case of white coat syndrome, Beck S.😛

My BP was unusually high at my ✻Diabetes Review✻ too ..and this is first time that this has happened.

Perhaps I too can attribute this to ✻white coat syndrome✻
