How wonderful it is to find someone who understands, cares, listens and takes action.

Complete foot check taking 15 minutes in itself. Filament and tuning fork. Result is zero result in left foot but pulse very good despite feeling cold to touch and minimal in right foot. Only result really was tuning fork on tip of big toe and vibration felt on ankle bone - nothing on bunion joint.

Lesion on left big toe (ran over it with my mobility scooter!) dressed and another appt this week. Feet and toe checked over thoroughly and nails clipped. Been told in no uncertain manner that I must not attempt to trim own nails due to lack of feeling. Appts will be made 4 weekly until they see how fast they grow and then may reduce to 6 or possibly 8 weeks.

Comment was made that I should have been referred by GP as soon as reduced sensation was apparent. Referral was made after my last blood test by DSN but even so took over 8 weeks to come through. However only a one week from receiving letter and getting appt. Beginning to feel more positive about things and they are writing to GP about my care - or lack of it!!

Glad to hear you had a good, thorough, examination 🙂 It is really NOT good enough to wait so long for an appointment when you report such things! 😱 We've had a few cases on here where some healthcare professionals do not recognise the urgency of such problems in people with diabetes, and treat the person as though they were not diabetic, resulting in a poor outcome :( It's good to hear that you are now being properly cared for and closeley monitored 🙂

Pleased to hear you had a good apt and felt listened too.
