How many mistakes can there be in one letter? I've now got to work out how to get the letter changed.
He said that I have had diabetes for 36 years - duh it's 46 years - I'm not having an incorrect letter stopping me from getting my 50 year medal!
Said I was on clarythromycin when it's erythromycin
Said my carb ratios vary from 1.5 to 2 when it's between 1 and 1.5
"She feels that the fibromyalgia is getting worse" - I haven't got fibromyalgia and never mentioned it - what I said was that I'm struggling walking.
She would like to be referred to a rheumatologist - it was the consultant who suggested that I was referred to a rheumatologist
And last...but definitely not least
"She is not able to walk the dog as she used to" I'd have a job doing that as gorgeous Susie passed away 2.5 years ago!

😱😱😱:(
Sounds like she's mixed you up with someone else or she was at a totally different appointment to you.
Hope you can get this sorted out soon.

Ljc you would certainly think that it was someone else that he was talking about but there's enough to know that he's referring to my appointment. Now I understand why the clinic nurse said that a lot of their patients have HBA1C's in the 10's if the consultants can't get the basics right.

Exactly Northerner and I'm bl...y annoyed that I'm the one who's got to sort it out. I also haven't had an insulin pump appointment for over a year.

How bloody frustrating...annoying & disappointing Amanda...are you going to write to him...what a waste of time...effort...and money (no doubt this will not be cost effective for the NHS)...would it have been so difficult to get it right...listen to what been said...say 'she needs to be referred to a rheumatologist'...hope it doesn't lead to too much of a delay for you...honestly...makes you want to scream😡.

If that were me I would write a letter back to the consultant pointing out the errors and also copy in your GP so it's on file. A paper trail is a very good thing.

Agree unequivocally Sue...get it documented!

Thanks Bubbsie and Sue. Yes that's definitely what I'm going to do.

One way is to photocopy letter, then write corrections on original letter, photocopy it and send to consultant with covering letter requesting changes to be made and a new letter to be issued. Plus send copy of corrected letter to GP.

It sounds as though your consultant has got you mixed up with somebody else. I think you should do what @Copepod suggested ~ good luck @AJLang x

Absolutely disgusting and they get paid megabucks for below par work. Grrr.
