wats people's view on insulin pumps please ??
They are fantastic as long as you use them properly i.e. you only get out what you put in. Unless you have type 1 diabetes it's very rare to be allowed one on the NHS.

I'm in hospital at mo have had terrible time , consultant came round this morning and has been talking about it

Hi Lisa hope your being looked after well.
I would say if you even have an inkling of a chance of a pump it would not be a minor miracle but a massive one. Pumps are generally only given to type 1s

I concur with others. And also not only are the usually only given to type ones, it's even a battle then. There's a strict criteria to getting the pump.

I love my pump. But I fought for 7 years to get it.

It's hard work I'm not going to lie. But it's changed my life. I have much better control and feel much freer.

I keep asking for one but am just quoted the NICE guidelines and told no as I don't meet the criteria. I keep ploughing on as I really think its the best thing to help me control my bgs.
Sorry to derail your thread Lisa, I hope you are feeling better xx

Hi Lisa Hope you are starting to feel better. I'm just wondering if maybe you are type 1 after all? From the comments about pumps being for type 1 and it's being suggested to you it could be the reason why.
Hope you're well enough to get home soon.
