Woke to 5.2 had breakfast, post breakfast - 5.2 and 4 hours later - 6.1, is that ok or not? x

Yes, all good numbers. When was post breakfast reading? 1 or 2 hours post meal? Why test at 4 hours post breakfast? Or was that just before next meal? Are you having sunny weather to encourage activity, whether walking, cycling, gardening, anything?

2 hours post meal and yes 4 hours was because it was next meal, yes great weather but no gardening as unfortunately don't have one, and not doing much today at all as football is on soon lol x

Rather you than me - I couldn't face being indoors watching football!

Would love those numbers myself, would be interesting to see what your numbers are like two hours after a meal.

What do you mean by interesting to see what levels are like 2 hours after a meal? x

I'd always understood 2 hrs post meal was the optimum testing time so perhaps that's what pav meant. Your numbers are spot on Kaylz so ease up on the worry! 🙂

Enjoy the football too! 😛

So it's ok that I'd gone up by the next meal and means I can have that breakfast again? sorry for silly questions x

Some foods are a 'slow burn' and the glucose hits later. On the rare occasion I've risked a piece of pizza, this happens to me. Like you, I'd expect a drop after the 2 hrs but it doesn't always happen. There's so many variables (because I'm presuming you had you usual breakfast?). How we are feeling generally, external temperatures, activity levels, time of the month, variations in meter levels etc. It's not an exact science but more importantly, the increase doesn't seem significant enough to stress about because they're still excellent levels! Of course you can have that breakfast again, you're still well under the NICE guidelines for post prandial levels type 1's Kaylz.

However, knowing you, you won't have it again! :D

On average your levels peak around the 2 point, just interesting to see what your peak was. With the numbers you have posted it shows you have excellent control.

No wasn't my usual breakfast I got that sick fed up of granola and yoghurt that I braved a change yesterday and had toast and peanut butter, it put me hypo then due to all of the 0.2 units of 'free' insulin floating around so naughty me had a square of chocolate with it this morning to up the carbs as had nothing else in the house and it seems to have worked out well, so your comment of 'knowing me, I wont have it again' is completely WRONG HAHA :D I don't care that it's a stupid 2 slices of wholemeal toast to me it was HEAVEN and a lovely change :D x

I think part of the problem is, we all get to rely on our meters, and we forget that they aren't 100% accurate. Your 5.2 could have been nearer 6, and your 6.1 could have been nearer 5! All we can do is use the figures as a general guideline, and if they are in the pre meal 4-7 range, or under 9 after eating, say hallelujah and carry on!

Well I'm glad to hear that Kaylz, shows you're getting less stressed about minor changes.

I thought we had the 2 hours after meal reading, which was 5.2.

Brilliant readings Kaylz. Celebrate.
