Same as me then Lisa. What happens is that diabetes can cause abnormal blood vessels to appear on the eye (you can't see them). In the case of run of the mill background retinopathy, these vessels are well away from the important little region called the macula, so can often be ignored, and sometimes disappear of their own accord. However, when they are closer to the macula they need to be closely watched. As I said in my earlier post - they've been doing that for me for about 5 years! Hopefully, you will find yourself in a similar situation to me, and it will remain stable for a long time to come 🙂
I'm hoping they have caught it early and will be able to give me laser treatment have heard it's quite painful tho ! X
