Injecting issues

Just recently last 3 days it's stung me to the point of swear words coming out left right and centre when I have injected my insulin and sometimes I've noticed a drop of insulin on the needle as I pull it out my tummy . Most of the time it nice and pain free am I doing something wrong ?

I shouldn't think you're doing anything wrong Steff. Sometimes my novorapid really stings and I can only presume it's due to me getting a bit close to a nerve on the odd occasion. A bit like stubbing your toe - you think 'Ouch! Flipping heck!', but the pain soon goes. I always think, well, it's not too much to suffer if it keeps me alive! 🙂

The drop of insulin on the end of the needle is also quite common - it's often where the airshot has dribbled back over the needle before you inject, or a tiny bit that finds its way out afterwards due to osmosis, shouldn't worry about it 🙂

Yep had the too close to a nerve a few times and instantly you want to pull it back out but obviously can't 🙄, and yeah a little drop of insulin is usually on the tip of my needles, a small drop can come through before you even do an airshot if you pay close enough attention so don't worry, hope the stinging stops soon as there's nothing worse x

My Novorapid sometimes stings quite a bit too, I've found it happens more in certain areas of my tum.

I find this too, some areas of my tummy are really sensitive and it really stings!

I find the fattiest bit close to my belly button is the most comfortable place and the further I move out to my sides the stingier it is x

Now On me those places have the most ouch factor .

Gotta agree there like, I just wanted to give that area a rest as I've hammered it and it's all yellow and bruised currently

You could try your thighs.
I think but not sure it was @Northerner who recently posted a diagram of areas we could inject, I'll see if I can find it.

Thighs are ok. I use them when I want to give my tum a break .

I use my thighs and bum cheeks for my basal and mainly tum for novorapid. Have you tried your bum cheek yet Steff? Mine seem less sensitive as they're well covered lol!!

No bother I've dug my bumph out I got with my insulin pen and there's a diagram on there.
