I make regularly a farmhouse fruit cake, very sweet and has a caramel/vodka liqueur poured over it. I only have a very small slice after eating dinner which isn't high in carbohydrates and so is justified - works well for me. I also use KitKats as a bedroom table, middle of the night restorative should I feel a little low (or just greedy).

I just love black forest gateaux to treat myself loll the local baker does one, everytime i walk past the window it stares me out, very un nerving loll the staff stare at me staring the black forest gateaux out i can hear it you want a piece of me dont you, then the eventuality happens oh go on then loll

ive been 'dieting' since mid january. This weekend was the first time I've really had any major craving. So I bought some Lindt high cocoa chocolate infused with mint and had one square. Works out to about 5g of carb. It was amazing, lasted me about 20 minutes because I sucked on it slowly lol

I have two fingers Kit Kat almost daily, occasional 90% dark chocolate, one square. and once a month I have my favourite rhum baba as my pudding .

Ice cream is my sin of choice but is has to be really good ice cream. my next favourite is home made cheese cake. If i want sweets then licorice is my favourite. it has literally been weeks since i have indulged. we dont have this type of thing in the house because it calls from the fridge and i cant resist. So if we are going to sin then we make a deliberate trip to the shop

We clean the whole house from top to bottom every Thursday then we have a Magnum each. Two exchanges.

I am so gutted, here you guys are bigging up the nature valley protein bars I get myself all geared up for deliciousness and my local Tesco don't stock them damn :( lol, oh @Pumper_Sue do you like brownies and/or blondies there's a website that do gluten free ones although you probably already know but in case you don't and fancy having a look its called deliciously guilt free, I'm thinking about ordering some myself 🙂 x

Other shops sell them so just keep looking for them. 🙂 I doubt I would like brownies as I'm not that keen on chocolate, but thanks for the info anyway 🙂

No problem, and oh don't worry I will keep hunting as they sound absolutely delicious 🙂 x

Bumping this because I've just discovered Fulfil bars, and although I haven't had a chance to check for a spike (on a journey), I am heartened to see people say they don't suffer with them because they were nice and I think they would be nice to have every so often.

I've tried the cookies & cream fulfil bar. Bought a job lot of 30 off eBay for £15 as they had a short date on them. They had no effect on my BG. Be warned though that they do contain polyols from the sweeteners used. Too much if them may cause a laxative effect.

That's good to know as I'd never heard of them before. I'm imagining they'd be a once a week treat or so really.

I discovered Tesco have some small bags of new bites, their own brand they are new, available in Almond, Cocoa and Orange and Strawberry, Cranberry and Coconut flavours, I didn't buy any but from what I remember all the bites were under 5g carbs per bite, they haven't added the nutrition information on the website yet, (by the way this was less than an hour ago I looked at them and its gone out of my head already! Lol) x

Daren't. Food addict here. Wouldn't be interested in one of anything, I want the lot! :D Just one bite would mean a bender. I envy you all your self-control.

Not buying them is exercising self control!

At weekends I have three posh chocolates after dinner. This can be very posh, like the Italian gianduja we bought in a little place in Covent Garden yesterday, or less posh, like Sainsbury's Belgian chocolates or Thornton's Continentals or Lindors (recently developed a taste for the dark chocolate ones). A good fallback is the chocolate Brazil's that they sell in Poundland and which are surprisingly good! I am only allowed three and I look forward to them all week.

Good on you all treating yourselves. I am scared to have anything and I need to put on weight too. I have another hba1c next week (pre-diabetic) and that is worrying me. My hubby keeps saying I should treat myself sometimes.

I have some cook books with carb counted desserts and goodies, like Tom Kerridge's and Davina McCall's. will have to try some of those and also some of the recipes on here.

No, not for me. I can't take the credit. I have no interest in sweet stuff as a rule. I do luv trifle, jelly and cream, and creamy desserts but I can hold out against them. Just try waving a chip in front of my face and I'd cave. :D

I've gone right off potatoes. Having not eating them for a long time, when trying them again I realized that they didn't taste of anything.

I'm half Irish, I could live on potatoes like that bloke, he lost weight too! 🙂
