Having forgot what a hypo was after constantly being high for months and months, my body decided to throw another curve ball at me. Going from 14.7 to 3.3 in just over 2 hours, with new symptoms for me. Instead of the usual shaking and confusion and being clammy, went from feeling normal to having that feeling of wanting to be sick and the confusion that followed. A thought occurred I better test to make sure and wham the 3.3 appeared. :(

Sods law that I have my appointment with the hospital team next week and my body decides to do the opposite of what it normally does, makes the food diary they want to see look bad. :(

Oh ouch pav, sorry to hear this and hope you're feeling much better now. You didn't need this! 😳

Yes but they'll know from the 3 month memory on your meter that you aren't fibbing about what's normally been happening.

It isn't only our actual BG that the symptoms reflect (all sorts of different things are 'proper', 'usual' hypo symptoms) BUT the 'depth' of the symptoms reflect the speed at which our BG dropped as much as they do, if not more, that we are under 4.0 in the first place.

If you're at 7 and slide gently down to 3.7 or 8 and doesn't go much lower if it does at all - yeah you'll feel it - but the after effects of it won't be that awful. If you plummet pdq from the teens to hypo - you might be even at 4.2 - but you'll feel like you are/were nearer 1.8 !

Does that make sense to you, can you get what I mean?

Last year when I was on Gliclizide I found I was getting different symptoms for hypos every few weeks.I only realised when I checked my bloods on a couple of occasions that I was having one.

Unusual for me as used to get different symptoms, as normally get the same ones even when it's a rapid high to low drop which most of mine were, hate gliclazide as it's so unpredictable with me. This one caught me out due to the change in symptoms and one minute felt ok and next it was feeling sick. I should of twigged and checked levels a few minutes sooner, rather thinking it was not a hypo.

I felt much better after a few days of coming off it, i think it was giving me more swings than i was aware of. I was on the slow release version too.
