thought i would put myself on the record as what i post will probably give me away anyway😳 I was a nurse - i have not worked for 20 years now - so a lot of my knowledge is out of date but much of the general stuff is still ok. The best thing is it helps keep my family safe and healthy.😉

Are there any other medical trained members out there?

There are coffeesnob and there are members with knowledge that surpasses the level I've experienced from doctors and nurses on the subject of diabetes. We post as patients regardless of background and many are very expert patients.
Hope you'll enjoy the mutual support on here.

looking forward to it amigo. when i nursed we were still dosing insulin to match food intake:confused: when i did the xpert course i was shocked at how things had changed. looking forward to all the insider tips especially around diet

Hi, coffeesnob, & welcome to the forum.🙂

Hello and welcome. 🙂

and as readers of today's Telegraph will see, it seems that the NHS and Diabetes UK may finally have found out that carbs are bad for us and are quietly changing their advice to keep the carbs down.

Hi coffeesnob and welcome from another type 2 coffeesnob! Afraid I spend far too much in Costa!

I'm a veterinary nurse 🙂 and my special interest, even before my diagnosis was diabetes in animals, it still is but I have far more empathy for them now that I know how it feels to be hyper / hypo!

Did you know that the first time a hypo was observed was when they were testing the original insulin on rabbits and they started passing out? 😱 They didn't know what was happening at first! 😱

I did not know that.

I've always wanted to know more about B,B & M's dogs - after all I owe my life to them as much as I do to B,B & M plus Eli !
