I hope you don't mind me jumping on your thread @Northerner but I've forgotten how to start a new one 🙄

I saw DN at surgery today and my Hb1ac, from last weeks blood test, is 67 - 8.3, which I'm a bit disappointed with. However, its gone down 10 from the last one, so at least it's going in the right direction!
I'm seeing the DSN at the hospital in the next couple of weeks to discuss changing my basal to split doses of Levermir, as I seem to be higher in the day and sometimes hypo at night. So I'm hoping that once that's sorted I will have better control and really hope to get it down to a better level. I just feel a bit like I'm going in ever decreasing circles at the moment :(

Hi @Lucy Honeychurch - I moved your post to its own thread so it wouldn't be overlooked 🙂

You haven't been diagnosed long, so that's actually a good improvement - it's often said to be better to bring your levels down slowly as there is greater stress on the small blood vessels with a rapid drop, so it's good news, and I think the changes you are looking to make will help to see a further improvement next time around 🙂

Lucy that's not so bad as you can see from my signature I had a massive drop, you did well to drop especially as you had to get through Christmas and New Year I've seen a lot of people's can be higher than previous due to this period, chin up lass you WILL get there 🙂 x

Thanks Kaylz, it's good to discuss it with people who understand. Whilst my family are really supportive, they don't really get the ins and outs of it all and how frustrating having this can be lol! X

I know exactly what you mean as my family are the same lol, slow and steady wins the race as they say, it all takes time and I now know my plummet was due to too much insulin, you are doing great so just keep at what your doing, remember and keep us updated how things are going ( you know by now we're all nosey haha) and I hope switching basal helps 🙂 x

So early after diagnosis you are diong overly well. I certainly found that changing the basal insulin to Levemir and splitting it made a lot of difference. I hope this works well for you.

Thanks Kaylz, I'm hoping that it will help too, and I'll let you all know how I get on x

Thanks SB I hope it will work too as it looks like I need a higher dose in the day than I do at night. Also I work nights, which doesn't help the situation and I find I have to eat more when working to keep the hypos at bay, which isn't really helping my weight, which is slowly increasing.
