Woke up this morning with a pain in my right big toe. I don't have any sensory loss, and I don't remember any injuries. Nonetheless, there was my toe with an obvious infection under the nail, and redness in the distal half of the toe.

Needless to say, I am off at sparrowfart to get to the morning open surgery. I won't tell you the first six words I greeted the day with, but three began with F and one with B, and the other words were 'and' and 'it'

Not fair, this, I've got enough on my plate just at the moment. I know other folk have got miles more problems with their tootsies, but without wishing them any ill, I don't want to join that club if at all possible.

Don't write me off just yet. I'll keep you informed on developments.

Horrible start to the week Mike...hope things improve asap.
 
Hope the infection soon clears up Mike, toe infections are very painful as you have just found out :(
 
Aye, but here is the problem with a variety pack of conditions. Because I take Tramadol for the hip pain, I think it suppressed any pain from the toe. I didn't take any before bed on Saturday night, so the painful toe became evident.

Thank you all for the good wishes, it's comforting to know I can have a good moan and nobody minds🙂
 
I can sympathise: I'm currently suffering from 3 separate toe problems: the big one on the right got a huge piece of MDF dropped on it and nail is black and about to drop off, but otherwise better than it was; little toe suffering from at first un-noticed athletes foot and the middle left one has a new, novel condition to me, called 'jogger's toe' from running outside in new trainers at the weekend, where it gets repeated jammed up against the inside of the shoe.

Seriously though I hope all three toes recover quickly.

It has been a few days since I was n so I hope it gets sorted or has at least been seen by someone.
