Hi Northerner, I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes 10 years ago. although i have managed it through diet and medication, last year i was given humalin at a dose of 22 on the pen. My glucose readings vary 4 and on a bad day to 16. I have been told that I can adjust the amount I inject.

Hi, @MIKEZ, Humulin I, which is what I presume you mean, is a medium acting insulin, it won't last 24 hours, so you may want to talk to your support about doing two 11u jabs a day rather than one 22u. That may save you the highs and lows I used to get before I started MDI. The idea is to reduce your numbers while keeping the graph as flat as you can, so give them a call and ask.

Hi AlisonM. thankyou that is the most information i have have . Got a review on Wednesday, will let you know the resultregards Mike
