I don't know why she swallowed a fly? Perhaps she'll die. Well enough about her cos this morning I went one better when I swallowed a 1ml insulin syringe or at least stabbed myself in the side of the tongue with one. I was driving to work and fumbling around in my bag for a syringe which I managed to locate. Pulled the syringe out of the bag and offered the pointy dangerous end up to my teeth to remove the orange cap. A procedure which I have undertaken several million times before. Alas the cap had already removed itself in my bag and the syringe went full tilt into my tongue. This really hurt and I almost tail ended a yellow and orange coloured scaffolding wagon. How my company insurance company would have sorted out that claim has me sitting here giggling like a giggling thingy. I often wondered why my friends only ever allow me crayons and not sharp pencils BOOM!!!!!! Whoever said diabetics make extremely competent cretins obviously had me in mind.

Hope your tongue isnt too sore after its needle stabbing incident!

My tongue will heal. My pride will take some additional stimulation. I have a bottle of Penderyn single malt at home which I am sure will go some distance toward that this evening

Sorry to hear about your tongue, but should you really be attempting to do ANY of that whilst driving? 😱

I was actually pulling into a layby at the time and the syringe was being held in my large gob ready for the injection. The scaffolding lorry comment was actually delivered with humorous intent. Please don't take it quite so literally

Phew! 🙂

Sounds a bit dangerous frankly. Doesn't take half a minute to pull over and rummage around safely, then do the injection! Sorry, I know this was meant as a light hearted post, but I've been the victim of a road traffic accident when the other driver was driving carelessly, so I just can't tolerate people taking these kind of risks.

With respect if you read the full thread I was pulling into a layby at the time of said incident. The layby was empty and at about 7mph as I was slowing to a stop I had more chance of dying of boredom than crashing my car into something. If you have had a road accident in the past then you have my sympathies. If this makes you feel more sensitive to potential dangers when using roads I fully understand this. My own situation yesterday however did not involve a road accident although I did run over an empty crisp packet 🙂
