Trying to keep to my diet changed my bread and pasta to brown, plus having sweet potato which not liking much, miss roast potatoes once in a while, also miss my white bread, using very little jam and marmalade the nurse at my Dr's practice said have jam but very little, need not buy any special jam.
Having said that I am keeping to my diet and losing weight.
Sweet potato ? can you roast them, what can you do with them to enjoy more.
I'm keeping well enough but get tired often, especially when driving long distances, then I get very very tired, anyone else the same, driving to see my Grandchild or holiday in the Uk.I'm retired now.
Hope everyone is keeping well

I do everything with sweet potatoes that l did with normal tatties. Took me a while to get used to them, but still have to watch my portions as they still spike my bloods a bit. I tend to find celeriac a better potato alternative, & much kinder to my BG.

I bake a sweet potato, then mix it with some of that tinned fish stuff, like mackerel or sardines, Then shape it into what resembles a sircle, and warm it in a pan. Does me with some veg and beans.....

I'm the same as Mark, cook sweet potatoes in the same ways you would a normal potato. I love baked sweet potato with tuna mayo! Well done on losing weight xx

Well done with the weight loss. I'm not keen on sweet potato either.

I love sweet potato! I mostly do "fries" and wedges, both oven cooked. I chop them up, put them in a bag with a little oil & seasoning (I like 'em spicy so use black pepper, cayenne, stuff like that but herbs work just as well), give the bag a good shake to coat the wedges thoroughly, then spread them out on a baking tray and cook for about 20 mins at 200°c / Gas 7. They also work well as jacket potatoes and as mash. Try them on cottage pie or slice them over a hotpot instead of normal potato - lovely!

Agreed, it doesn't have the sweetness..... Mashed with some heavy cream... wonderful!!!

Martin!! - DOUBLE cream in the UK ! LOL

I hate the taste of sweet potato - whatever you choose (or I or a chef) to do with it. Yukk Yukk and thrice Yukk.
