Rather excessive packaging! 😱Woo hoo, Sanofi have sent me a half unit pen for my Lantus.
I am very grateful to them, but I was just a little bit bemused when the postie rang the doorbell and handed me a huge box.....

Exactly!Rather excessive packaging! 😱
It was surprisingly easy in the end. Having filled in their online contact form twice, and been ignored, I picked up the phone, explained that I wanted one, and the lady said, OK, which colour and what's your address? Three days later it arrived. Simples!Excellent, you tracked down the elusive half unit Lantus pen! I do wonder sometimes at the amount of packaging for things!
It's bee-aa-uuutiful.🙂Woo hoo, Sanofi have sent me a half unit pen for my Lantus.

If I need a new pen I just ask my GP to prescribe one - you'd have to ask them to change the lantus prescription to cartridges anyway 🙂That looks great. I've got a half unit pen for my novorapid but am still getting the disposable lantus solostar pens on prescription, think I would like to change that to a refillable one. Did you have to pay for it?
No, they sent it me free of charge. The reason I didn't go down the prescription route, was that when I wanted a new NovoPen, the surgery made such a Horlicks of it that I ended up doing two trips to the surgery and three to the pharmacy, (the pharmacist even tried ringing the surgery in the end, and he eventually overruled what the surgery kept trying to prescribe, which wasn't a half unit one, rang Nordisk, and got me a NovoPen echo instead, which I was very happy about.). So I just thought it would be easier to cut out the middleman. That looks great.
