Morning everyone,
I'm new to the forum so a little background for you. I've just gone past my 11yr anniversary of being diagnosed with T2. I was 26 at the time and they were not entirely sure if I was T1 or T2 with being diagnosed so young so they've continued to treat me as T2. Most of these years I have buried my head in the sand and not managed the condition very well at all. I started off on Metformin which didn't agree with me at all was changed to Glucophage which was the same, then to novomix insulin injections which was too rigid for my lifestyle then eventually put on lantus and humalog which is what I've been on ever since. I find it hard to lose weight even though me and my partner go to the gym 3 times a week and I cook all our food from scratch. Doctors believe I have PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) this was found last year when I was having abnormal periods or none at all and found 2 cysts on my right ovary. Me and my partner are now struggling to conceive due to not ovulating each month, are there any other ladies on here that also have PCOS? did you change from insulin back to metformin as that is the preferred medication to give for PCOS? Sorry for the long rant but I feel like i'm in a never ending vicious circle that I cannot break. My doctors are quite patronising and think it's all very black and white that it's so easy to lose the weight. If anyone has any experience or advice they would like to share that might be of help it would be much appreciated. Thank you for reading.
