Have got breakfast sorted and am happy counting carbs in lunch & supper - but SNACKS - he likes grapes and he likes clementines - how much can I allow - I can count carbs - I have a book - and I can check sugars of most products - but do not know how many fruits with high sugar content I can safely allow him to have
Hi Maureen, welcome to the forum
🙂 Unfortunately, grapes are far from ideal as a snack when you have diabetes - my nurse described them as 'little sugar bombs'

A better fruit snack would be berries or melon, or possibly a small apple. As we tend to have our own individual tolerances for these things the only way to discover his would be, as Andy suggests, to test the levels before and after eating. Have a look at
Test,Review, Adjust by Alan S for an explanation of how and why this can be very helpful.
Can I suggest having a read of
Jennifer's Advice and
Maggie Davey's letter? These will help explain diabetes for you both, understanding things better will help you make better decisions. Also, the book
Type 2 Diabetes: The First Year by Gretchen Becker is highly recommended
