My local Boots is having problems saucing Abbott Lancets, they suggest I ask my Doctor for a different type.

I'd suggest getting an Accuchek meter, which will come with a 'Multiclix' or 'Fastclix' finger pricker, for which he can then prescribe lancets. I've found it to be an excellent device 🙂 You obviously don't need to use the meter and can continue getting strips for your Abbott one. I don't think you can get the finger prickers separately, but could be wrong.

+1 for the fastclix 🙂
Not keen on the accucheck meter though, the test strips are like planks!

Seen DSN this morning, as I've been diagnosed with Cancer since my last visit we spoke more about that than my Diabetes, which, according to the DSN, I've got well under control.

Was also given another prescription for Lancets so I can try another Chemist. Surgery not aware of any problems.

Good luck - sounds like you might have been given the brush off by the previous pharmacist, I've seen that reported here in the past 🙄

I don't know about the Multiclix/Fastclix, but Bayer's Microlet 2 fingerpricker is available separately, so it's worth checking. 🙂

But probably not on Amazon; I just did a search, and the Multiclix is selling there for between £39.95 and £71.88! 😱 🙄 It would probably be far cheaper to buy a new Roche meter, and use the one included with that...

Where on earth do they get those prices from? 😱
