Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
No matter what I eat, hot food or cold food, within a few minutes I get uncomfortably hot and sweat all over. This can last for more than an hour.

Could this be diabetes related? I have Type 2, treated with Metform 1500 mg per day

Maybe your blood sugar is abnormal, low or high, when you sweat.
Another check is whether the sweating is related to input of calories. Do you sweat after eating something with virtually no calories, such as celery?

Hi Ethel, when I was diagnosed I used to get this a lot when I ate and it was usually because my blood sugar levels had risen substantially. Do you have a blood glucose meter so you can test before and after eating?

Thanks all for the replies. It happens whatever I eat, even a bowl of salad with no protein or carbs.

Good idea to test more regularly, I only test in the morning at the moment and I shall discuss it with the nurse when I see her later this month.

I was hoping somebody had experience of this.

It's always worth testing, I think, if you have an unusual response to things, particularly food, so you can rule your BG levels in or out 🙂 Hope you can get to the bottom of it soon 🙂
