I'm a bit run down at the moment and have got some painful mouth ulcers that i woke up with Tuesday morning. I am prone to them but i haven't had them for a while and my usual method is bongela twice a day which i've been doing since Tuesday. I know Bongela does sting but my ulcers haven't gotten any better and it hurts every time i put bongela on and it's obviously not making any difference.

Any ideas or tips would be very welcome!!

If you can still get it, try Bocasan. It's a powder that you mix with very hot water (as hot as your mouth can take), You then swish it round your mouth and then spit. It hurts like hell but it really works. Within 24 hours, the healing has started. I haven't had to use it for several years, so try asking a pharmacist of more mature years if you can find one.

Brilliant, thank you, i will talk to my pharmacist today, he's pretty good 🙂

Just found this on Wikipedia:

Bocasan was an oral wound cleanser manufactured in the United Kingdom by Knox Laboratories Ltd of London from 1960-1975, before being rebranded as an Oral-B product.

Production of Bocasan appears to have ceased by 2003. A similar product, Amosan was available for a period before also ceasing production in 2010. As of 2013, a Dutch pharmacy offers the same formulation under the name Bikosan.

I used to get mouth ulcers, and found that Bonjela didn't work for me. The best thing was warm (not too hot) salt water - swill round and spit out.

Thanks guys! Never had them hang around this long or be this painful!

Mix up 1 tbsp of baking soda with a mug of water and swill that around. INSTANT relief - if it's anything like the time I had dehydration ulcers after a bout of dysentery, you will be astonished at how quickly and completely this works.
