It stayed steady all night 9.4 at 7am but now 7.3 on the 70% basal. I'm not worried about the level being low but i am very worried about the drop. I have literally done nothing physically apart from sit on the settee, watch tv and read a book which is not very healthy:(

Hi Amanda, I think you said you were 7.6 an hour ago? So it looks like you are steadying at that sort of level and the drop from your 9.4 is just about 2 mmol/l which I always consider to be an acceptable variation, but I do understand your concerns given what you have been going through lately. I would just keep checking, but hopefully you will remain stable 🙂

Thanks Alan. I left a message on the answer phone for the pump nurse explaining the results and got a phone call 10 minutes later from the diabetes centre asking me to see the consultant on Monday. At least I will then get her view and if she is happy I will be happy🙂 I've written up every result, every bit of carb and every bit of insulin - I've never been so good at writing up results🙂 I just want to forget about diabetes for a while

I guess why the drop was a surprise was because I had thought that being on 70% basal would have meant that my BGs would keep rising because it is such a drop in insulin. I didn't expect them to stay steady/ drop on that basal.

Yes, it is perplexing, but it seems your basal should actually be 70% of what it was now, with those figures! Hope the consultant is able to put your mind at ease and give you a good strategy for the future so you can get on with your life and not have to be micro-managing everything! 🙂

Now down to 6.6!!!!

Thank you Northerner🙂 So do I hope that it doesn't go down more🙂. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will stay steady🙂 It is just so ridiculous I think I'm going to laugh....Maybe I'm on my way to being cured:D

Well, it's almost happened to me! 😉 Hey! Wait a minute! You're not Halle Berry are you, and weaning yourself off insulin? 😱 😉

You've guessed my secret😱:D

Thanks Karen. I'm really fortunate that it's with the consultant that two of my friends thinks is brilliant and really listens to you.
