Just found that my inflammatory marker ESR is up at 28 - should be under 10 on their range so I've got to have it repeated in a fortnight. I know that I have inflammation and I know that I don't feel well and I know that I am finding it difficult at the moment to walk easily and I know that I'm shattered..........but last time they found that the ESR was high they couldn't find out what was causing it and so couldn't do anything. What with this and my blood sugars I just want to cry

Really sorry to here this Amanda you just keep going from one thing to the next...really hope things improve for you...x

That's about the same rate as mine was at my last lot of blood tests Amanda and I reckon it could be the reason you're seeing these weird numbers. It usually happens to me when the Rheumatoid Arthritis is playing up.

Not good news Alison. After your post yesterday I hoped that things would be better for you. It may be why everything is up side down at the moment. I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you and for things to start to improve. Sending you lots of hugs ((())). Hang in there.

Thanks everyone your messages really help. Alison they suspected rheumatoid arthritis with me when I had similar levels 18 months ago but the rheumatologist said that it wasn't - although he never could explain the ESR and diagnosed chronic fatigue. I don't want another illness but I do want to know what is wrong so that I can treat it and feel a lot better than I have been. Thank you all of you.

((((hugs))))....lots & lots of ((((hugs))))... Sorry, I'm empty of good words tonight, but I hope they get to the bottom of this soon. Xxxx

Twitchy you don't need words hugs are fantastic, thank you xxxx

Thank you Jalapino I love hugs 😉

I had this problem a few years ago and it turned out to be something called Erithema (sp). The doc couldn't give me a cause and it cleared up on its own after a time. Hope you'll soon be feeling better.

Thank you Kate. I will look that up 🙂

Don't know what to say, apart here's some more hugs from me.

Pav I wouldn't know what to say either. Hugs are brilliant, thank you 🙂

It's lovely that you all care about me, it makes this horrible time a lot easier to deal with. Thank you🙂

Wouldn't you notice a rash like that? - or did you have it without a rash?

NHS Choices says it's the cold sore virus, that's interesting because obv I have it, since I have coldsores occasionally. But the I also know you can have the virus and not have coldsores, otherwise you'd always have em - so maybe that's it? I haven't noticed them ever affecting by BG, but no idea about my ESR because have never had cause for it to be tested.

Interesting!
