Well, I've got myself in a bit of a pickle.
Last night I put new cart in my AccuChek Mobile and did a couple of tests. I'm away for the bank holiday so I packed it in my bag as I figured 48 tests would probably be enough for 3 days.
I've just whipped my meter out on the bus and went to do a test, only to get an 'error: defective cartridge' message. Tried all sorts of fixes and fiddles but the end result is I've got 48 tests now gone to waste plus no way of actually testing my blood sugar for the next 3 days.
I won't be anywhere my dispensing chemist for the next three days and I don't have any prescription paperwork on me. I've tried calling accu chek but the only thing they can reasonably do is post out a new meter and a replacement pack of strips which I won't get until the middle of next week, by which time I'll be home and therefore able to change the cartridge to one if my spares anyway.
Anyone got any suggestions? Could I take in my defective cart to another chemist and ask for a replacement or am I going to have to splash out on a new cart...assuming they have any in stock...
