Evening all

Well this is a thread from me which is a happy thread!!

And I am sooooooo happy :D

I went to bed with a 21.6

Well this is what happened today:

I woke up to 9.6

I had a slice of brown toast 2 hours later 9.3

Pre lunch 10.3 chicken in a small white roll, 2 hours later 7.0

Just checked before injecting 6.0

OMG!!!! what super duper levels :D

I have not seen these levels for over 8 months, my only worry is that they seem to be dropping so quick I do not want a hypo and as I have never had one, I truly would not no if I was having one.....I keep testing as I am now worried! so stupid I was worried because my levels were so high, now worried that they will drop to low....this is all new to me but can't stop feeling happy but a little apprehensive......I feel so happy tho...almost numb 🙂 it felt like they would never come down....im chuffed!! :D

Great news, really pleased to hear it's finally happening for you :D. Try not to stress too much about hypos, the vast majority of them will be mild and really obvious (you will find out your own particular symptoms, but the main ones people get are sweating/feeling hot, shaking, feeling a bit woozy). If you test regularly as you are doing then you should get a good idea of your daily pattern and when you are most likely to be at your lowest, and then perhaps schedule a small snack at those times. Always carry some sugary stuff with you and you will be fine 🙂 The main thing that worries me slightly is that there is such a big overnight drop for you - you may want to do some nighttime tests for a while.

Sounds like a really good day! Be careful tonight if you're starting from a lower BG at bedtime - as Northie says you dropped a lot overnight last night, so it would be worth setting an alarm and doing a test in the early hours. You may find that a few consecutive days of lower levels could make you more sensitive to insulin, and that therefore your meds and doses might need adjusting, so make sure you liaise with your DSN. 🙂

Many thanks redkite
The night time thing is worrying me and do not understand it, as of late I keep dreaming about testing etc and waking and feeling odd but im sure this is my body adjusting to low levels, as I said all new to me so fingers crossed!

Oh by the way did I tell you I had a 6.0 today!!!!! :D:D:D

That's awesome jalapino - well done !!!!! Really pleased for you.
I always have jelly babies next to my bed as well as my meter so I can test and take action if I need to ..... Nothing worse than having to faff about when you're half asleep ! 🙂
You'll be fine - keep up the good work !
X

Love the hat jalapino. :D

And great news about the drop in your numbers. As the others have said, don't worry too much about hypos, you'll almost certainly know if you have one. Just keep a carby snack by your bed in case one strikes at night and you should be fine.

It is a good hat eh! :D

The funny thing is I am now worried about injecting more insulin incase it drops even more....just never had these levels for so long

I'm so happy for you. Try not to worry about the hypos but make sure that you have something sweet - jelly babies/normal coke/lucozade by your bed and your testing kit. IF you have a hypo tonight phone your diabetic nurse in the morning and ask her about insulin dose adjustment. Make sure that you test during the night

One rule I had in the early days of insulin was that if I woke in the night and felt even slightly odd, I would test. Most times I was OK, sometimes a bit on the low side, but it helped me to get familiar with relating how I felt to what my levels were 🙂 For most people 3am is the time when they are likely to be lowest, as this is generally the time when the liver is releasing the least glucose.

Great news

Excellent stuff!!
Keep up the good work

That's excellent news 🙂, as others have said if you wake up feeling odd or wondering why you have woke up, worth a test.

Though don't know how your going to keep your sweats intact if the wife keeps eating them for you. :D :D

Great news! Onward and downward 🙂

Well once you've actually had a hypo, you will be a proper diabetic ! LOL

Nobody else would understand your elation - but we all do!

It's great to actually get to this point now where I can actually start to control it rather than it control me :D

Well last night went well went to bed was 9.8
woke up at midnight was 11.4
This morning 11.2

So nice close numbers and I seemed to sleep better last night.

Happy days! :D
