Someone has dumped a large open box of chocolates on my desk --- inconsiderate oaf

lasttime someone did that to me I put them in the bin stating I did not want other peoples rubbish cluttering up my desk as I had enough of my own.

I work in one of those offices where people bring in treats. When I said well I'm not allowed any of them because of the sugar and my co conspiritor has a gluten intolerance so can't eat them either faces just looked blank

put them the other side of the room

I put them the other side of the room out of the way-- I have been told that they are hand made and very expensive!! ?40 to 50 a box!!!!! who pays that ?

people do paythat kind of money and having asked these things are not left on my desk and said why I feel quite justified in dumping it

you should say thanks then take it home for someone who can eat it :D

Exactly - give unwanted gifts to someone who can appreciate them, whether friend / relative / charity shop (although they don't usually take food items). Or eat it yourself - not in one sitting, obviously, but one chocolate a day after a meal will do very little harm 🙂

If you must throw away, then put food in compost bin, plastic trays and cardboard box in recyling. Please NEVER put food in landfill - it produces methane when it breaks down, and for the same amount, methane is four times more damaging a greenhouse gas as carbon dioxide.

...

Have to say, that would be my preferred course of action, I adore handmade chocolates but rarely get a chance to sample them these days. When I lived in Folkestone I took regular day trips to the continent - Bruges being a favourite spot, and the chocolate factory on the way back irresistible!

I must admit, I have fairly good self-control where sweet things are concerned so could happily eat one a day for a month 🙂

Snap Copepod and Northerner.

Usually 'expensive' chocolate is not bad at all cos it's higher cocoa-solids than cheaper varieties.

However it's the fillings that do you in LOL

One at a time - and savour .....

Copepod - most offices don't recycle. It's far too much trouble .....

I don't like chocolate, so always say no. Unless it's wrapped round a Bounty Bar!!

One a day for a month Northener - oh I wish I had your self control.

I adore chocolate, I would probably say I could be addicted, I have to of had at least a little every day, even if just a taste. Expensive Thorntons ones are a fave. I can't just have one but I don't go mad either, so thinking about it I do have more self control than I thought 🙂

One just isn't enough! I keep it in the freezer... out of sight, and takes a while to thaw.

Out of sight is what I try too and out of sight is good away from my boyfriend who will only eat it if he see's it, many a time I have gone to the fridge because I've gone low looking forward to a guilt free little treat to find that he has eaten it all!!! I do ask that he at least leaves me a chunk so i am not so dissapointed and he says he wouldn't eat it or buy it if I didn't!!!
