I don't no about everyone else but do you find you have lost your appetite? me and the misses were going to have salad and quiche last night, nice and easy, and ended up having nothing as we were to hot and bothered to eat!!!

I'm having this exact problem as well. I sorta feel hungry but when I actually get food put in front of me, I don't really want anything to do with it at all. I think I might be a bit dehydrated, actually.

I'm finding that I crave juicy fruit like melon, strawberries, peaches. Yum!

I hate it deusXM.....I want to eat...in the sense I need to but just cannot...I am drinking lots of water but that's because my big D is not under control yet, YOU must drink water my friend 🙂

I'm just eating a couple of baps a day. Can't be bothered with anything else in the heat.

See it just shows doesn't it?...just a thought how is this effecting every ones levels as we are not eating in are normal pattern? due to the heat 🙂

Be careful as to how much watermelon you eat though. It is said to be a mild diuretic, which I can attest to 😱 It won't stop me eating it though, as I love watermelon

Yes, I do. I try snacking. I have some fresh pineapple that I chopped up and froze (yum), fresh berries and some small things of three bean salad, potted shrimp or chicken and just grab a bit every couple of hours. I find regular grazing easier than trying to eat a full meal. I have a set of small snack pots I got from the pound shop and I fill those ahead of time.

In this warm weather, mixed salads with great dressings are fantastic. The trick is to mix up the right dressing, invariably this means avoiding a bottled one and finely chopping or slicing the ingredients. You get a fresh but moist taste, lots of crunch and protein. Just add chicken strips, tuna, ham, cheese, olives, sardines, salmon or whatever you fancy to the basic salad. If it's moist and crunchy, you'll eat it.

I took a tip from the Hairy Bikers and now have a favourite dressing, pumpkin seed oil and balsamic vinegar. Just drizzle them separately over the basic salad and then add the protein of your choice. Goes well with a glass of ice cold fizzy water with a couple of slices of lemon or lime.

Mmmmm, looks and sounds very tempting to me! 🙂

food

yesterday I had 2 slices of home made seeded bread and marmite for breakfast --- then salad in the eveniong and have felt rough most of the night -- at least it is cooler this morning ---- and as for the weather forcasts in our burnt patch it has been 4 or 5 degrees hotter than the forcast suggest thet we will have!!!!!!!

I haven't been eating so well either. Part of my trouble is I'm not hungry when I am supposed to eat like at lunch times. Been trying to keep healthy snacky things to hand. I suppose it is a plus I have gone off chocolate because it is too (loads of naughty words) messy if I can't keep it in a fridge and I don't like cold chocolate either...

In hot weather, whether in UK or overseas, I often don't feel like eating so much, so often have a drink instead - mint tea or Turkish coffee in Middle East (with insulin to cover sugar), regular tea / fruit tea / real coffee / instant coffee in UK or cold squash or smoothie based on berries / currants from garden. I eat when hungry, which after breakfast, often isn't until cool of evening.

Losing your appetite can also cause some problems.

For instance, I 'know' that if I feel full, sluggish and thirsty, my blood sugar is running high.

The problem is, hot weather causes me to dehydrate, causing me to feel full, sluggish and thirsty.

There have been times in the past when I've been very, very close to giving myself a blind correction dose (since these symptoms ALWAYS mean I'm in the high teens) and done a test, only to find that, because I haven't eaten, I've actually been running in the low 3s - so injecting would have caused MAJOR problems.

Once I treat the dehydration, the hypo symptoms come back with full force.

Yup I'm having issues just having salads and pittas at the minute, drinking loads of sprite zero for some reason to

All I do is drink lots of water! but I will have chicken salad tonight just to eat 🙂
