Since splitting my glargine, I've only had 3 night hypos compared to practically every night.

But one thing I don't like is my waking bloods, in the night I was 5.3, woke as 9.5 & when I finally got up 11.5!

Now is my liver dumping glucose into my blood?

It seems very strange!!

Think ill be upping my glargine but pre split my waking bloods were always good

How are you splitting your dose 50/50 ?. Might be your not having enough at night and too much in the day causing a little overlap during the night so your going too low, then morning dose running put early hours causing a high if that makes sense. Maybe increase your evening dose but also reduce your morning dose by the same amount. Hope that makes sense.

I did 50/50 but my waking bloods were in the high teens so am on a 70/30 split.

Part of me wants to go back to taking the whole lot in 1 go

just do a test for a few nights........

so test overnight every couple of hours, especially at 3 am right up until you actually get up..........

you will know exactly what your Lantus dose is doing to your blood overnight and if your experiencing the dawn phenomenon......

now that you have split your dose, each one can be evaluated independently...

I don't sleep too well due to being scared of hypos so am usually awake 3 or 4ish & test but after then it all goes wrong for me
