Think I've got this!! 😡
Have been off for 2 days coz my sugar levels have been really high in the morning. After being snappy at work (and to the hubby) I decided to do some night time testing. I'm fairly stable till about 3 am and then start to rise.
So have upped slightly my insulin between 3 and 7. I've also changed my evening carb:insulin ratio to try and bring my levels down before I go to bed.
So, fingers crossed, I'll wake up with better levels in the next few days. 🙂

Hope the adjustments do the trick suziepoo! 🙂 Let us know how you get on.

You usually find, that to correct something that happens at 3am, you have to adjust the insulin before that - at 2am or even 1am - so it it's better but not completely cured, try that.

At least that's what both John Walsh and my DSN say and have to agree, it does work for me.

I have this as well, from 2 am untill 6 am i have more than doubled my dose.
What i would say is if you are going to check it over night, try and have your dinner atleast 4-5 hours before bed,but try not to have too much fats in it (i found this will raise my levels very late on) and then test through the night, but dont up it too much too soon. Let us know how you get on.

That's what I have been told too. I can't seem to prove it either way but it's where I start.

.....the beauty of the pump! 🙂 my basal profile goes from 1 unit at midnight to 3 am hourly to 3 units from 3 to 6 am .....sorted my DP out.......usually!

Well, it was definately lower this morning - but not sure if that's coz I got up late! 🙄 However, I'm going to see how it goes and then do some re-testing when I'm off at Easter.

The day then got worse when I went to the chemists. I had used the surgeries website to order some lancets etc and they weren't included within the prescription! This is the second time they've done that - although the first time was using the old manual system of dropping my request off at the surgery!

Luckily, I've enough to last till next weekend (but haven't told them that!!) and have sent a stroppy email saying why aren't they on repeat when I've had them before from them and my test strips are - obviously, I can't use one without the other!!!!!

So not happy with the surgery and there isn't another one I can change to!! Will have to blast the GP next time I see him!! 😡

Good heavens! Do you use a new lancet every time you test? I forget when I last changed my lancet..... probably the last time I checked someone else's BG or St Swithun's day, whichever was most recent LOL!

Yes, St Swithin's day is indeed traditionally the day when diabetics - worldwide! - change their lancets though I have to say, I often sneak one in if we go away on holiday before July and ANOTHER on St Swithin's.

My Bad.

Well i'm bad as well, i change mine only once a day😱 but i'm one of them people who hate waste and use every thing up untill it has no more life left.

I change my lancet every time I use it - but that's probably the needle-phobic in me!! It hurts more when it gets blunter! 😱
