I phoned Accu Chek a few minutes ago about the free blood glucose meter they offered me. I spoke to a really nice lady who told me I could have one of 2 meters which were the Aviva or the Nano. I chose the Aviva. She didnt ask me about anything to do with my GP or getting lancets and strips on prescription. She just told me my meter would be here in 3 days. Excellent service from a very nice lady. :D :D :D

Excellent! 🙂 I have both meters, but prefer the Aviva as I find the Nano a bit too small, plus it has a design fault which means it often shows false battery errors - very annoying when you've just pricked your finger!

The other good thing is that the Accuchek finger=pricker is one of the best ones available and you will get one and 10 strips with the meter 🙂

I've found it depends very much on who you speak to at Accu Chek - sounds like you got one of the better ones this time!

She was really nice, so polite. I thought I'd phone and get grilled!!! The good thing is I can now see what's happening with the BG which can only be a good thing :D

I called them yesterday as my Mobile has been giving me 'too little blood applied' quite frequently recently. Spoke to a chap who advised me to clean the sensors and then started asking about my testing regime etc. and then said he'd send me one of the newer mobiles so I'd have a spare!

Really good customer service 🙂

Excellent, a company that seems to care about customer service. :D

I always get fantastic customer service from accu-chek. If anything breaks they always replace it for you without any problems.

Received my new meter this morning, very nice, I liked the old mobile, but I think they've improved on it.

The only trouble with having the mobile as a spare is the test cassette, if I don't use my 'spare' meter 50 times in about 4 months the cassette will expire and all those will be wasted! I'm considering keeping the old one by the bed and using it for my morning and night time readings and then using the new one during the day, the only trouble with that is I lose the averages on the meter but I have all that in my app anyway so I guess it's no big deal, but the new meter does allow me to export my data via USB so again I'd lose that as the results would be incomplete! Oh bother!

I'm still waiting for my meter. I am sur it will arrive soon. 🙂

I'm surprised actually - they normally ship them out by next day courier! Perhaps that's just for people they know have been a customer for some time - hope it arrives on Monday! 🙂

My lad has the Accu-chek Mobile. He had owned it for almost a year when I found the registration/warranty paperwork. I filled it in and sent it back, and by return they said he would qualify for a free upgrade. So within a day or two we received that, and in that pack came a sheet of paper asking if we would like a free case for it. We had a choice of a cover type case for the meter, or more of a pencil case type thing. So I sent that in and got the free case too! Very impressed all round.

If you haven't installed the cassette into the new meter yet you won't have to use it. And they have a 3 month life once started, as I have found to our cost in the past.

I know it's bulky, but I think it's an excellent piece of kit (not that it's for my use) but when we had to use it on my son in an emergency, it was so easy, it talked you through each step. He also said in the early days with it that it's excellent when hypo, not having to try and get a testing strip into a tiny slit when having the shakes.

The lady said to me it would arrive in 3 - 5 days, so I'm sure it will arrive on Monday 🙂
