Hello all,

sorry its me again! Went off to docs for my annual check this aftanoon, saw nurse 1st as usual and asked her what my hba was, she said 8 up from 7.4! So went into doc. head hanging down expecting to get any earfull but what did he say, 'oh yeah thats fine, all good' 😱 'your blood pressure up 136/86 and your cholesterol back up to 5, but yeah all fine, see you in 12months'. What on earth am I supposed to do, just accept this as good? I am sooooo confused  Why do they give us guidelines?

Rant over, thanks for reading.

😱 I reckon you have three options (or a combination thereof):

1 - Carry on as you are and see what happens in the next year (!)
2 - Make another appointment with doc to explain your concerns and ask for further advice or a referral to someone willing to help you address them
3 - Listen to all the suggestions you get from the lovely folks on this forum, take some action for yourself and go back in a few months to see how you're doing

Good luck with whatever route(s) you decide on. There's plenty of support for you here. 🙂

Sounds a bit lazy of GP to me, did he/she not attempt to find out why your numbers have risen? I daresay that those numbers are much better than many he may see, but they are all candidates for improvement. Is there anything in particular that you think may be the cause of the rises Shirl?

Hi and thanks for your replies,

have been very stressed of late Northerner what with ATOS (still awaiting appeal) only been about 3 months so far, losing puss, and to top it all my son tried to harm himself yesterday! Just dont understand how gp surgeries in same town can have such differing ideas of what are good numbers?

It is worrying sometimes the gap in what one may find 'acceptable' and another would be concerned about :(

Hopefully, as Spring approaches, everything will look brighter - certainly makes me feel a lot more positive! 🙂 Hope your son is OK.
