So basically the GP went through all my results saying this is ok that's ok this might be a bit raised that might be a bit raised. He dosent really know what's going on and might know more if I were to go for a scan on my tummy. He did feel my tummy and said he couldn't feel anything untoward. He did say the liver result might be a bit raised.

He took my blood pressure and has upped my dosage of tablets.

My HbA1c (diabetic 3 month result) was 8.6 or there abouts which is probably saying I may need a bit more insulin.

One other thing which the GP mentioned was some of the results may be point lack of vitamin D & another could be with a bone related thing.

I've got to arrange an appointment with him no more than a week after the scan. This is usually how long the results take to come through.

So is he going to test you for Vit D deficiency? I should think that most important given your results.

Ummm with an Hba1c of 8.6 it does suggest control issues. Pardon me for asking but have you had DAFNE or any other carb counting course? If you haven't it would be worth asking - IMHO it would also be worth enquiring about your chances of getting a pump.

Sorry you don't have any definite news. If you still don't have a firm diagnosis after the scan, try asking for the exact details of what the raised levels are, then hit the net. That's what I did when my electrolyte imbalance appeared. I was told to eat fewer bananas and add more salt to my food (!) but I discovered that one of the drugs I was on was likely to be the real source of the problem. I took the info with me to my GP who took me off bendrofluamethzide - my BP had improved to the point where I no longer needed it.

Gill, you had an awful lot of ups and downs before Christmas which could explain the HbA1c. Hopefully you have got things under better control now and the next one will be much improved 🙂

Re the possibility of Vit D deficiency the GP said there are supplements available which he could put me on but he wants to get this scan done first.

No I've not done DAFNE or any other carb counting course. There is an X-Pert Insulin course in my area which I'd like to enquire about but obviously I would have to make sure I'm on the course for Type 1.

Re the pump hmmm I've heard/seen so many excellent reports about it but somehow I just can't see myself with one. No direspect at all to those with one and I really do wish them the very best of luck but I think I prefer to stick with the good old fashioned pen and cartridge.

That's very true. Would you believe that I'm once again having to increase my Lantus 😡. The GP also said in yesterdays appointment to increase it.
He also said as well as doing my before meal testing to do a lot more after meal testing hence my thread "Testing - Before/After Meals" earlier. I suppose this will give a better picture of my poor control.
