Got up tested was 8.0. Was a bit sleepy still & injected 10u NR instead of Levemir.

I drank some lukozade and had jam on toast straight away.

I expect I should test a few times to see where I am.

My questions are:
1) I didn't take my levemir - should I?
2) I didn't take my metformin - should I?

Many thanks
Pauline

As long as you have eaten enough carbs to cover the insulin you have injected then you should be OK to inject your levemir. How much do you normally inject for your breakfast? Do keep testing though! 🙂

Thanks Northerner, for the toast & jam I would take 4u. So need to eat/drink the other 6.

I will have some cookies then, I had got them for my BF but hey-ho.

Thank you for the response though.

Not such an uncommon occurrence, but it seems you have got your head screwed on as to what you need to do..............😉

LOL - we've all done that at some time, worst one is when you do it before bed and then have to have a carb fest when all you want to do is sleep!

Yes, take the long-acting and yes, take the metformin.

Metformin needs to be 'topped' up regularly to continue working optimally, it's not a drug you should take 'as and when' - like you do painkillers just when you have a headache or something. One missed tablet wouldn't be disastrous but really you need to be regular to get the proper benefit.

Cheers novorapidboi26

First time I have mixed the two up. So easy to do I suppose especially first thing in the morning .

Have just taken my metformin. Will take the levemir in a moment.

Thanks! 🙂
