Been increasing my mix doses to lower my before meal readings. Doesn't seem to be working.

Also using rapid. Don't really know how much to dose and still getting pants results.

Not got another appointment until the 26th but right now I'm soo annoyed with myself that my levels are still rising!! Feeling very upset at the mo while sat at my friends 21st birthday party. No idea what I'm going to eat from the buffet :(

Buffets are tricky even when you think you've got your insulin worked out! Try and stick to the cheese and pineapple and try not to worry - it's a special event so you can probably get away with one night if you keep things in moderation 🙂

Is there any way you could get an earlier appointment? In the past I've been able to get an appointment with a DSN at a week's notice, but unfortunately some places are more stretched.

I was at 14 about half an hour ago. Had 30u of mixed insulin. I have no idea why it was that high

My next appointment is the course for MDI. Not sure really what my DSN will be able to do about it until then.

I just feel really tired and emotional all of the time

That's not surprising Megan. Just do what you can until the appointment, it's a shame you have to wait a month for it :( I have no experience of mixes so can't really offer any suggestions, but although not great, 14 is not terrible in the scheme of things - I often get those sorts of readings when I go to Support Forum Meets (I blame the others!). as long as you do your best on days when you have more predictable eating then you will be fine 🙂

The 14 was before I've eaten anything. I'm scared of eating much incase I push it much higher. Everything is crisps or battered. No cheese in sight. I'm hungry :(

Blooming diabetes! 😡 Crisps and battered aren't great calorie wise but they are low GI.

Low GI but high ultimately in carbs. Which I can't dose or really correct for.

It's soo annoying

Well if you have some rapid, you could try 1u per 20g carb, and 1u for every 5 or 6 on your meter you want to obliterate. So now at 14 you could have 2u as long as you do then eat summat with carb.

That's exactly half of the starting rates for a T1, so very conservative suggestions. (we start with 1u per 10g carb and 1u for every 3 on our meter we want to wipe out)
