When all else fails silly question but what happens if your type 2 and you have tried virtualy all meds including injecting 5 times a day and its just not working for you,im aware that you need to look at things like diet and exercise as well,guess im just wondering what lengths the doctors will go to to help you get it right.

I can't really answer that question but I would think they would also want to look at your medications as they can increase blood sugar - and maybe do some additional test to ensure that there isn't anything else going on which is causing your body to produce too much of some of the anti-insulin hormones such as adrenalin. I have read of rare cases where it is the over-production of adrenalin which has caused the high blood sugars.

Carole it should be up to your doctor to adjust things or tell you how to.
How much Levemir do you inject and has it been adjusted? (for instance I'm currently doing 50 units twice a day)

Sorry i was'nt referring to my self i was just wondering what would be the next step in general,luckily i have a lovely dsn and a pretty good consultant.

It has me thinkining too, my GP is not very proactive and my Diabetes Care is with him. I have always had to push for the things I need and for more help when I have needed it.
