Had some Quinoa for the first time the other day with some bbq spare ribs. Just boiled the rinsed quinoa in water for 15 minutes. Not bad at all.

Where did you get it from? None of my local supermarkets seem to sell it.

Morrisons own brand.

Boo, no Morrison's in my area :( I did find some in Sainsbury's but it was very expensive for a small pouch as though it was some sort of exotic treat and not something I could afford to buy regularly. Presumably the Morrison's was reasonably priced?

Found this somewhat disturbing article: http://www.independent.co.uk/life-s...-food-fad-thats-starving-bolivia-2248932.html

Tescos sell it at ?1.69 per 300gram bag
I found it online at about ?5 per kg+postage

I wonder if it will grow up here in Scotland: http://www.realseeds.co.uk/grains.html

Interesting, thanks Vic. The article suggests it might grow up there! 🙂

quinoa can thrive in the wet climes of Bolton as well as Bolivia. An increasing number of Britons are cultivating their own supply of quinoa in kitchen gardens and allotments.

It's a Bolivian seed crop, a bit like cous cous (as I understand it). Vic's article above explains it quite well 🙂
Except it has a nice flavour, don't believe cous cous has much of a flavour.
