Hi all

Got back quicker then I thought so can update now
Firstly doc says I have golfers elbow which will be treated by an anti immflamotory gel and maybe a pull on bandage over the elbow the tingling in the fingers dont hurt as much as the pain in elbow you see I'm to give that 3 weeks and if nothing changes next step is psycio

Strips side of things she said budgets are being so tightly squeezed but in my case she said keep putting a request in we just are trying to crack down on people who are well controlled abusing the strips etc

Going back on Victoza can't happen quick I need to see nurse 11th oct she needs to get a baseline of how my hba and cholestrol are and take it from there.

Depression I've had my anti ds upped to 150mg

....I hope you get back on track soon Steff.....look after yourself...it is your health afterall. 🙂

Hi Steff - You can take some positives from the fact, it would appear it went better than you anticipated (I hope it did).

Depression - I too have taken a slight dip, although I have acknowledged that there are certain factors beyond my control. I had my dose reduced I am now on two tablets of 50mg a week. If I need to, I will increase the dosage but only after I discussed it with my doc.

At least the doc is putting a request for you to get some strips.

take care and all the best

Sounds like it went reasonably well Steff 🙂 Good to hear that you can still request strips, although I don't really agree with the argument that they are trying to 'crack down' on people who are well-controlled abusing strips. Has it not perhaps occurred to them that the reson why some people are well-controlled is because they are able to monitor their blood and keep things on track? 🙄

Glad to hear the problem with your elbow has been identified and you have some treatment for it, hope it recovers quickly 🙂

Completely agree!! Glad you got somewhere with the GP Steff.

Good result with the GP Steffi, sorry I missed your original post yesterday, we all have these ups and downs, at least your GP is now aware and trying to help.
The hardest part (and I speak from experience) is admitting the problem in the first place, I'm so glad that you are getting things back under control again. You might feel that no one cares but we all do, so keep your chin up girl!

Let us know how you get on?? I battle with temptation on eating every day, I love sweet stuff too its soo hard isnt it! I feel for you. I am also cross they stopped your strips, how are you supposed to control your BG if you cant test? its crazy. I really hope you can persuade your GP you need to be testing and I really hope that you do feel able to tell them how you feel as its their job to help you. Good luck. Keep us posted xx

Thank you all for your replies gosh was weird today took all my pills one after other and decided thats it now everyday day i WILL take the pills i need them.

Good stuff Steff! Keep up the good work! 🙂

I'm really glad you can still get the strips, ridiculous that they ever stopped them in the first place. You have golfers elbow and I have tennis elbow - what a sporty pair we are!! Take good care of yourself.xx

Glad to hear you had a pretty productive consultation, and even more pleased to hear you took such a positive step this morning. Keep it up, we are all here to support you and help you through a rough patch. In a few weeks I am sure you will feel so much better and brighter in yourself. Yesterday was a new start and each day is a new day.

Well done.

Tina

That's my girl xx

Good!

now I have to type some more ......

Diabetes is such an emotional journey and you are not the first, nor will you be the last, to struggle to do what you know you should be doing. I have been there and one of the things that has helped has been knowing that I am not on my own (the DUK blogs are great for that!). The thing is, the problem with your hand may be something like carpal tunnel syndrome and nothing to do with your diabetes so don't beat yourself up but please do be honest with your doctor. Good luck.

Many thanks josco appreciate your comments
