Since my Wife has been diagnosed with trying to copy me (now T2 on Metformin and blood pressure pills and threatened with statins) I have decided to be stricter with myself, so cutting out my 'treats' and crisps and adding in lettuce, cucumber and tomato, I cannot believe the change it has made.

In just 1 week I have reduced my Levemir from 90 units to 60 units (very happy about that as 60 is the highest setting you can dial in, so up to now it's been 2 injections). The highest BG reading I have had in the last week is 7.4 and I'm sitting here wondering if I have the nerve to go to bed with a BG of 5.7 or should I have a digestive to keep me going (it used to be a packet of crisps to keep me going).

That's terrific news Vic! Wow, such a difference! Sounds a lot like what Hazel has been achieving by dietary changes, hope it continues 🙂

that is amazing.... well done .... really good willpower 🙂

Wow thats brilliant news Vic! 🙂

Great! Long may your successes continue 🙂

That is brilliant. Well done:D

Well 7.3 this morning, down to 5.8 now so pretty good but wish I could find the solution to the Dawn phenomena.
Thanks for the kind words.

That's fantastic well done 🙂

Vicsetter, that's brill anyway, being able to reduce your Levemir. Just shows ya!

Could you achieve anything useful with playing with the timing(s?) of the jab(s) ?

Levemir still peaks at X hours and if it were possible to match the peak better to the timing of the DP, might that help?

Back to my favouritemost graph in the world LOL

I take the Levemir in the morning and then Victoza at 5pm so I shouldn't and don't want to add a Levemir in the evening (the Victoza replaced the 60 units I used to take in the morning). 5.7 at bed last night, 6.4 at 3am and 6.7 at 7:15 when I got up and had my levemir. I'm just a bit annoyed that I wake up with just about what I went to bed with, but just being a bit self-critical. Got to delay my HBA1c (due July) to take benefit of the new readings:D

Why annoyed? it's BRILLIANT ! It's (apparently) normal to have a difference of up to 1.7 plus or minus between bed and FBG.

It's what the rest of us strive for, Vicsetter!

(or is it being normal that annoys you, cos you want to be special? LOL) :D
