Yesterday evening I felt a little 'odd', room was spinning on a couple of occasions, but BG was fine. Didn't think much of it. I slept all night and blood was 8 when I awoke but just feel totally out of sorts today, so lethargic and just not right but can't put my finger on anything in particular. My BG has been around 18 most the day, since mid-morn, too. Hoping it doesn't turn into anything more, have lots planned for the weekend.

I don't have any ketostix with me (at work) - if you have ketones does this make your urine cloudy? I have never had ketones before, just wondering.

Sorry to hear this newbs :( It does sound like you must have picked up an infection or something - I generally know when I have something before any real symptoms simply by the fact that my BG is not behaving. Hope it's short-lived whatever it is, or even better that it doesn't materialise and your immune system wards it off 🙂

Have you given a correction to try and bring your levels down? You may have ketones, but I think as long as you can throw enough insulin at it then you can help keep them to a minimum until you can get home to test. If you're really worried, you could pop out to the chemists and buy some, I think they are around ?5-7.

Hope you feel better soon! 🙂

Thank you. I have done a correction and my BG is now sitting at 11, better than it was at least. Hope 5pm comes around quickly.

If your urine is cloudy, you might have a urine infection..

If your BG is high, your urine is normally very light colour as the body attempts to rid it's self of the excess glucose and ketones if they are there! Hence the thirst and dehydration side of things..

Cloudy urine normally indicates an underlying urine infection, sometimes the urine can also be dark and/or very strong smelling...

So perhaps book into your GP, and take a sample of your urine just in case you've got an infection, it would also explain your off feeling and high BG..

Hmm, that is something that had crossed my mind. I can't get in to see GP today now so will see how things go over the weekend. I had a urine infection not long ago but had more specific symptoms, a bit concerning if it keeps reoccurring.

Hi Newbs

Sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. Hope that you wake up tomorrow feeling much brighter and able to enjoy the weekend x

Thanks, I have felt a bit better today and BGs more in range so hopefully just an 'off day'. 🙂
