Woke with a BG of 10.5 my best since I started testing a little over a week ago following a change in dose (adding some levemir before bed and a little Novorapid before evening meal), so maybe, just maybe I'll get my first reading in single figures today, fingers crossed!

Oh well guess it wasn't to be, 17.9 before lunch so skipped it, still at 10.2!

These numbers are starting to rule my life and getting me quite down :(

It will take time, but you will get there. What did you have for breakfast?

Treated myself to a cooked breakfast today seeing as this is my bank holiday Monday! Skipped the toast to try and avoid any extra carbs. My 17.9 was 3 hours after breakfast so I was quite dissapointed for it to be that high.

I'm sure the numbers will come down eventually, I just don't think I have the patience to be a diabetic, I like results immediately!

I'm quite surprised how much it's getting to me, I almost wish I wasn't testing then I'd have nothing to get dissapointed about :( not looking forward to two weeks away from the family and trying to deal with this, if the numbers don't come down by the time I get back I'll be a wreck!

It does sound like your doses are too low still. I know what you mean about patience - I don't have a lot myself but I am gradually learning it! What is demanded of us is very difficult, especially in the early stages of using insulin. We are trying to emulate an extremely finely-tuned process with a rather crude 'match the injections to the food' manual method, so the best we can do (and stay safe) is to make changes gradually and learn from the numbers.

Wise words 😉

Thank you!
