i check my blood sugar randomaly , i hadnt done it for a few days so before tea i washed my finger and chaecked it was 15.9 i have never been this high its always 9s. my head is pounding not a headach more like a pressure which i have had before but still havent numbers this high. i have took my metformin so give give it a bit and check again . what do i do if it still high

I would check it again at another time (maybe 2/3 times at different times of day). I would also ask the usual questions ie did you make sure you washed your hands well, with soap? Had you eaten anything different? Were you feeling unwell at all (or you may feel fine now, but be sickening for something)? If you are still worried, then pop back to see your GP or nurse. Don't panic just yet though, there may well be a good explanation. Good luck. Katiex
 
How random are you testing? Is it completely randomly at different times, or is it a more controlled random in which you test at bed time one day, before a meal another day, (1h/2h) after a meal another?

If it's completely random then it's very difficult to put any meaning into the numbers and thus suggest something you can do.

If their numbers are high, some people drink lots of water to help flush it out and others go for a (brisk) walk to help burn the extra blood glucose off.

If the high reading was after a meal, then you might have an idea that whatever you ate might not be a good idea (although that does depend on what the number was before the meal).
