With regards to blood sugar levels, does the same level of scope apply to type1 ans does type 2's? For example I was told that try to maintain my level between 4.6 and 6.4, which I have done. Does this same rule apply to type 1's.

When I was DX I was told I should aim for BG levels between 5 and 7.

People may be given slightly different target ranges, but the same sort of scope applies to all people with diabetes, as the range is similar to what a person without diabetes would expect.

DUk's targets are ...

Children with Type 1.... 4 - 8 before meals, less than 10 two hours after meals

Adults with Type 1 ....4 -7 before meals, less than 9 two hours after

Adults with Type 2 ....4 - 7 before meals, less than 8.5 two hours after

I was told between 4-10.... is this as I was only just diagnosed??? :/

You say in another thread that you are not testing so are you talking about the HbA1c ?

Yes, I am talking about my three monthly HbA1c test.🙂

You should have made that clear in your OP ....you have confused everybody, we naturally assumed you meant SMBG.😉

Recommendations for HbA1cs are under 6.5 (48) for all diabetics except those susceptible to hypoglycemia where the target is 7.5 (58).
