Firstly I'd like to say a massive WELL DONE to everyone on here! It boosts my mood instantly by looking at everyone's posts and how supportive everyone is on here.

Not posted in several months as I moved to Liverpool to do a degree in business studies September '11 and thats taken up alot of my time. Moved to a different diabetes clinic where my DSN is AMAZING which is positive and my HBA1C came back at 7 which im also happy about.

Its coming up to my 4th anniversary since being diagnosed and since realising that, I've had several bad days which have affected me emotionally. I find myself very upset and down so when I return home for the summer I'm going to look into getting some counselling as the way in which I was told about my diagnosis was utter rubbish and nobody ever gave me any support.

Anyways just once again I'd like to say a huge well done to everyone for constantly being so supportive to one another and for never giving up!

Love to you all 🙂 x

Hello Antonia are you at Liverpool or John Moores? (no need to answer just curious).

I think its quite common that we start to feel down near the anniversary of diagnosis - in a similar way as people start getting upset around the anniversary of the death of a loved one. The date is held subconsciously and it holds memories of the day when your life changed in an unexpected way forever.

Glad to here you have a great DSN and the clinic is treating you well, its also great that you are taking the positive step of getting yourself counselling.

Hope that you will pop in a bit more often.

Antonia hi nice to see you posting, im pleased you mentioned counselling I hope it works as well for you as it did for me x ,please keep us updated

I'm at John Moores 🙂

Yes it is subconciously in my head alot, as soon as I noticed it was so close I began to feel down but just got to keep trying and be positive 🙂

Hope you enjoy Liverpool Antonia, I was born there but out in the stick, still miss it. Well done on your HbA1c, excellent.

I was at John Moores (before it became John Moores). The rooms I had lectures in are now part of the World Museum.

I hope you enjoy your time in the city. I dont know if you are interested but this thread was posted the other day.
