Hi Ian and a warm welcome to the forum

Do you have a meter so that you can test how different food affects you? I'd suggest having a look at our Useful links thread, in particular Jennifer's Advice and Maggie Davey's letter. If you have been having difficulties up until now, then it is often a good idea to take a fresh look at things - there may be information that your doctor has not updated you with over the past few years, and treatments and ideas are changing and improving all the time. Have you been on a diabetes education course, like DESMOND or Xpert? If not, then ask your doctor what is available in your area.

Please ask any questions you may have and we will do our best to help! 🙂

Welcome to the forums Ian. Do you have a Diabetes Specialist Nurse for support or do you just have the practice nurse.

just a nurse only get to see hear once a year.

Could you appeal to your GP and say that you really want to get control of your diabetes and feel you need some help. Could you see a dietician who could look at your diet and see how it can be modified. Sometimes people have several medical conditions with conflicting demands and a dietician can help to resolve such conflicts.

Hi ian. Welcome 🙂
