I'm sorry some of you will find this post distressing, especially T2's, I imagine.

Got K's script last night and as well as the Optium Xceed (now Freestyle) strips she is prescribed, we got 100 (4 tubs) of One Touch Ultra😱

The boxes had K's sticker on them, but for her Lancets, which are Onetouch branded. We do have a OneTouch meter we got as a freebee but we don't use it as we could not get the strips prescribed:confused:

Should I take them back? Unfortunately we have opened and damaged the boxes (hubby on auto pilot) so would they be able to prescribe them for anyone else? If I take them back and they have to be thrown away would be such a waste, especially as some of you peeps have so much trouble getting them.

Does anyone know what would be best thing to do?

If the boxes are damaged, they won't be able to re issue them. Presume they'll just bin them.

If it were me, I'd be tempted to either keep them or a proportion as a backup in case of meter failure and/or maybe offer some or all of them to a good home.🙂

Rob

I'd give them away to a deserving cause as the pharmacy will just bin them and everyone would lose.

Edited as just reread your post again MM yep it their error offer them up to someone who has to pay for strips.

Why dont you get a one touch ultra easy meter(small & quick). I have 3 types of meter 1 in van 1 in house 1 in car & spares ! Less to buy meter than strips !

I hope they go to a good home 🙂

Would be nice to ease the burden for those who have to pay for theirs, especially over Xmas.

Have one HOBIE - but think strips would be better given to a deserving cause - watch this space:D:D:D

iirc you can't take any prescription items back even if they are in perfect condition and still with seals intact.

That's my understanding too. There's got to be some third world charities that will take unopened diabetes consumables, maybe duk could give you some contact details

Yup that's another good one Copepod.

I've tried to take prescribed/boxed/intact items back to a pharmacy and they refused to take them. Once they have left the shop they can't guarantee you havent 'tampered'
